Co-Founder

Joe leads the engineering group at Asimov. Prior to this, Joe lead machine learning teams at Quora and at URX (Y-combinator, acquired by Pinterest). In these roles, he helped to build recommendation systems to personalize content discovery, algorithms to optimize advertisement targeting and machine learning models for search and discovery. Outside of work he enjoys running, glamping and writing.

JOE ISAACSON
VP Engineering

Kat leads the bacteria synthethic biology team and all things lab operations at Asimov. Prior to Asimov she worked at Sample6 engineering bacteriophages, and completed her PhD thesis on engineering E. coli towards improving production of value-added compounds. When not in the lab or office, Kat enjoys cooking and traveling.

KAT TARASOVA
Head of Scientific Operations

Amber is a lab operations assosiate supporting the synthetic biology team. She is a recent graduate of Penn State University.

AMBER DELHAGEN
Research Associate II

Nimish’s interest lies in engineering cells to advance therapeutics. He is a mammalian synthetic biologist at Asimov. He received his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular biology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a sports enthusiast.

NIMISH KHANNA
Synthetic Biologist

Brian is a software engineer obsessed with robust, maintainable computing systems. Prior to his work at Asimov, Brian lead teams building restaurant software at Toast and helped build the data infrastructure powering the Amazon Echo. He received his B.S. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is extremely fond of his cat.

Intern, Synthetic Biology

Sahil is a machine learning engineer at Asimov. His interests include using techniques in machine learning to accelerate the experimental process of synthetic biologists. Sahil is from Virginia, where he received a degree in Computer Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.

SAHIL ZUBAIR
Machine Learning Engineer

Nick is an intern focused on improving laboratory operations through software and automation. He recently graduated with a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from University of Michigan, and is interested in applying computational approaches to biological design and manufacturing.

NICK EMERY
Automation Engineer

Jeremy is working to improve and apply mammalian synthetic biology workflows towards therapeutic applications. He received his PhD in Biological Engineering at MIT, working on generating a quantitative understanding of miRNA repression and also on making synthetic genetic circuits more predictable.
